“Are you here to sell life insurance?”
Back in the early days of our agency, I remember prospects asking me this question when I was presenting them mortgage protection coverage. My answer to this question was always, “Yes!”. Most people are underinsured, and protecting families from financial disaster is something that I am not ashamed of and take very seriously.
What I cannot sell is something much more important. More than 2,000 years ago, God’s only Son came to this earth in the form of a man named Jesus, and He paid the price for our eternal deliverance from the wages of sin. He lived as witness to His deity, suffered and died for our iniquities, and rose again as a final proof that all He said and did is as true today as it was then.
Many of us spend more time planning the small, inconsequential things in our life than we do considering what will happen to our loved ones and us when we die. Like the life insurance that I sold, timing is everything for your eternal life. I have had prospective clients mail a request for an insurance quote and be gone before I could respond. Nobody knows when they will take their last breath. Do not let the things of this earth keep you from receiving something far greater than all your efforts can produce.
